"Buddy" goes to Hollywood

American producers are interested in making a new and somewhat changed version of the Norwegian success movie “Buddy.”

Icelandic Joni Sighvatsson is currently negotiating the details. It may appear as the negotiations are in good hands as he is the man who sold the remake of “Elling,” another Norwegian success movie, to Kevin Spacey’s Trigger Street Productions.

Sighvatsson is now in the last round of negotiations regarding “Buddy,” according to the Norwegian financial paper Dagens Næringsliv. The paper reports that the film is going to be redeveloped with an American partner.

“Buddy” has also been an economic success for the people behind the movie, both because it is doing so well at the box offices and because it has been sold to no less than 17 countries. In addition, there is much to be collected from sale of video and DVD sale.
