"The Conservatives' gay flirt could scare off Muslims"

Oslo politician Erling Lae received a lot of attention a few weeks ago when suggesting that Norwegian homosexuals should vote Conservative. Mohammad Hamdan, leader of the Muslim council, thinks the suggestion could scare off Muslim voters.

Since Lae's statement, the media has nicknamed the Norwegian Conservative party "The gay party".

Leader of the Norwegian Muslim council, Mohammad Hamdan, thinks the statement could scare Muslim voters away from the Conservative party:

"Islam says that homosexual actions is not accepted but we do not judge individuals. Still, I do think the suggestion may make Muslims count not only to ten, but to a hundred before voting for people who practice homosexual actions", said Hamdan.

Hamdan said he would vote for a heterosexual politician instead of a homosexual politician if they both had the same political views.
