Father found son dead under snow blower

A man in his thirties was found dead after a snow blower accident in Lommedalen, Bærum, Wednesday morning. The man was found by his father.

“This is a tragic accident,” said Marlow Grandalen, head of operations at Asker and Bærum police district to TV 2 Nettavisen. “It was the father who found his son dead, stuck under the snow blower around 8 a.m.”

Grandalen states that the deceased was in his thirties.

“He was about to clear an area when the accident occurred,” Grandalen explained. “He stopped after he had cleared some of the area. We don’t know why he stopped the tractor, but everything indicates that he stopped, lifted the snow blower, and then went back there to check it. The snow blower then most likely fell down on him.”

Grandalen states that the man did not get sucked into the actual snow blower.

“The man had probably been stuck under neat the snow blower for some time before he was found,” Grandalen said.

Grandalen states that the death is being investigated to establish if there were any technical faults that caused the accident.

Grandalen said that they have not managed to establish if the man was out on an official mission or if he was clearing snow on private property.

The police were contacted just after 8 a.m. and the accident occurred in Lommedalsveien.
