«Give your fur to a hobo»

Give your expensive fur to someone who needs it, urges the Norwegian Animal Welfare Alliance. However, celebrities are once again wearing furs as it is fashionable again.

The Norwegian Animal Welfare Alliance is trying to get people to oppose breeding animals for the fur industry, but instead of just throwing it away, the organization urges people to give it to people who otherwise would freeze.

The organization urges Fretex, the Salvation Army’s stores, to stop selling used furs and instead donate them to people who really need them, reported the Norwegian radio channel P4.

«They need them and they can stay warm wearing them,» said Live Kleveland Karlsrud in the organization to the radio channel. «And then it becomes unfashionable. I don’t think many others want to dress in the same things.»

Jan Risan, head of Fretex Norway, said that they are not going to stop selling furs.

«Fur is not really my thing, so I don’t think I would choose to wear one. I don’t really feel like wearing an animal,» said one homeless person the radio channel interviewed.
