High-voltage power lines increase cancer risk

Women who live close to high-voltage power lines have a greater risk of developing breast cancer than other women, according to new Norwegian research.

According to this research published in Dagens Medisin, women who live close to high-voltage power lines have a greater risk of developing breast cancer than other women.

A new and extensive Norwegian study concludes that women who for several years have lived within a 50 meters radius of a high-voltage power line have a greater risk of developing breast cancer than other women.

Former studies have rejected this theory. As a result, this survey is getting much attention internationally, and the research project is now going to be expanded, reported to TV 2.

It has previously been established that women who give birth to their first child when they are older, have a higher risk of developing breast cancer.

The research connected to high-voltage power lines may have consequences for where houses are going to be built in the future.
