Housing construction three folded in Oslo
Not since 1975 has the housing construction in Oslo been a level like the one the Norwegian capital is experiencing at the moment.
There has been an increase in housing construction in the rest of the country as well, but somewhat lower than in the capital. During the first six months of the year, 13,843 housing units were being built, reported Statistics Norway, equalling 3,189 more housing units compared to last year, a 30 percent increase.
The housing units are in average smaller than last year.
The townships registered a total of 3,537 housing units under construction in June of this year, an increase of about 65 percent compared to June of last year. A total of 1,400 housing units were registered in Oslo, where of about 600 of these were student housing.
