Man charged for sending porn to politicians

Stein-Erik Mattsson, the former editor of the porn magazine Aktuell Rapport, sent illegal hardcore porn magazines to Norway’s parliamentary politicians. He now has to meet in court.

Mattsson created commotion during the summer of 2002 when he printed 13,000 copies of Frie Aktuell Rapport containing illegal hardcore porn. The magazine featured uncensored sex between heterosexuals, homosexuals and elderly.

The magazine dumped down in the mailboxes of elected Storting politicians, in addition to the Director General of Public Prosecutions and the District Attorney in Oslo.

The goal was allegedly to provoke enough to stat a debate regarding what is legal and illegal pornography in Norway.

Lena Jensen, government politician for the Socialist Left Party (SV), filed a complaint against the magazine publisher for breaching the pornography code.

Mattsson was fined NOK 25,000 (USD 3700) from the District Attorney’s Office in Oslo in April 2003, but he refused to pay, according to the Norwegian daily Aftenposten.

This is the reason why Mattsson now has to meet in Oslo county court in February, charged according to the Criminal code’s paragraph 204 which among other things effects persons who publish, sell or in any other way tries to distribute pornography.

The sentencing framework is fines or prison time for maximum three years.
