Millionaire son charged with robbery

A millionaire’s son, age 25, and a 24-year-old man with a suspected criminal history have been arrested and charged for aiding in the robbery at Nordea’s branch at Grunerløkka, Oslo.

Aided by the darkness of the Norwegian night, heavy armed policemen arrested the suspected robbers. One was arrested in Oslo, and the other in Lørenskog.

According to the Norwegian paper, VG, the 25-year-old was arrested in his father’s house. The man has for several years worked with his 46-year-old father, who according to the latest tax reports is worth about NOK 6 million (USD 860,000).

The 24-year-old has previously been charged for trying to rob a money transport in Oslo 2000. According to information provided VG, the police have made several discoveries at the home of the suspect.

Opposes jailing

According to the police, the two men allegedly have connections to the same criminal environment in the Oslo area. None of them are charged with carrying through the actual robbery of Nordea’s branch Monday, but the police claim they aided the robbers. One of the charged men allegedly drove the get away car, a stolen, grey Chevrolet Tahoe to the location where the robbers changed cars.

Both men state that they are not guilty and according to their lawyers they oppose being jailed.
