Norwegians do not trust politicians

82 percent of Norwegian voters say they do not trust the politician's election manifestos, according to a new survey.

"I am surprised that the mistrust is so strong and so widespread. This is more drastic than results from former elections", said Professor Øyvind Østerud, NTB reports.

The survey, conducted by Maktutredningen, showed that 76 percent of voters completely or partly agreed that political parties are only interested in getting votes and not interested in the voters' opinions.

72 percent said they completely or partly agreed that the members of parliament did not take normal people's opinions into consideration.

Even members of political parties have problems trusting the politicians. 64 percent said they did not think politicians kept their promises and 57 percent of the members of political parties said the members of parliament do not take the public's opinions into consideration.
