Police have witnesses in murder case

Several persons were in the apartment in Solheimsviken where a 31-year-old man was stabbed to death Thursday night. The murder suspect will meet in court Friday in determine if he must remand in custody pending trail.

The 30-year-old man will meet in court at 1:45 p.m. Friday in order to determine if he will be placed in custody remand.

The police worked Friday to determine how the charge was going to be formulated. The man will probably be charged with murder. The question is what degree.

The police have several witnesses in the case, but as of now, the police do not want to comment on the motive of the murder.

No conclusions

“We have several witnesses who were inside the apartment, and we believe we have an overview of the case,” said Einar Råen, police lawyer, to TV 2 Nettavisen.

Råen stressed that the police are still keeping the case open. It is early in the investigation and the police have far from drawn up all conclusions.

Collecting things

The stabbing took place just before 11p.m. Thursday night. According to the local paper Bergens Tidende, the suspect came in to the apartment to collect some things. Just after the incident, the police was called out and surrounded the apartment and the block. The police entered the house with shields and batons and arrested the suspect.
