Security problems at Oslo Airport

TV 2 revealed Monday how easily youth got onto the plane parking area at Oslo airport. Tuesday new fences were erected, but the airport’s credibility has been damaged.

Nils Skarning, an experience security expert, said that the gaps in the security at Gardermoen airport in Oslo are so severe that they should have been identified and corrected a long time ago.

«The security gaps are rather severe as private persons have managed to get in,» Skarning said. «The doors should have been changed, and the fences should not have been constructed in such a way that they function as a ladder. These things should have been changed a long time ago.»

Both Norwegian and foreign airline companies react to the lack of security at Gardermoen.

British Airways is one of the companies that demands that the security must be improved immediately if the company is going to have any confidence in Norway’s main airport.
