Canada fikk overraskende lett match mot Sverige i finalen i junior-VM.

Canada tok natt til tirsdag sin femte strake VM-tittel i junior-hockey gjennom å beseire Sverige 5-1 i finalen.

Svenskene var ikke direkte sjanseløse, i alle fall ikke skuddmessig. Canadas målvakt Dustin Tokarski reddet 39 av 40 skudd og var en av kampens store spillere.

20.380 tilskuere så kampen i Ottawa, hvilket er rekord for en kamp i junior-VM. De fem strake gullene til Canada er også en tangering av rekorden, som Canada satte i 1993-1997.

- Ingenting kan måle seg med dette! Absolutt ingenting. Hør på denne fansen! Dette var fem, Canada! sa John Tavares til TSN før medaljeseremonien.

Tavares, kanskje det største talentet som ennå ikke er draftet i NHL, ble kåret til turneringens viktigste spiller.

PK Subban, Angelo Esposito, Cody Hodgson (2) og Jordan Eberle scoret for Canada, mens Joakim Andersson satte inn svenskenes mål. Hodgson ble turneringens beste poengplukker med 16 poeng.
