NORGE – BRASIL 33 – 25:

Thorir Hergeirsson var ingen glad mann lørdag. Han hadde sett de norske håndballjentene bli kjempet i senk av et på papiret dårligere brasiliansk lag.

Islendingen savnet forsvars- og keeperspillet som har kjennetegnet Norge i alle år. Søndag skulle han få se et helt annet norsk lag. Norge overbeviste fra start og fikk tidlig en solid ledelse. Likevel sto det bare 17-15 til pause.

Etter hvilen derimot var det klampen i bånn for de norske jentene, og til slutt ble det en komfortabel seier.

Og det Hergeirsson etterlyste lørdag, fikk han søndag. Therese Pedersen sto støtt bakerst, og ble fortjent kåret til banens beste spiller.

Heidi Løke og Tonje Nøstvold scoret fem mål hver, og var med det delt toppscorer i oppgjøret.
