The student had been at a private party with friends January 24 this year, when they decided to go out. The student met the man outside Kvarteret in Bergen. While her friends went ahead, she stayed behind and talked to the 23-year-old man who only two weeks earlier had been sentenced to two years and nine months in jail for raping a 16-year-old girl in Tronheim.
“You are staying here”
The man said he was cold, and woman offered to go with him to the hotel he was staying at to get a jacket. They stayed at the hotel room just talking, but when the student an hour later said that she wanted to go and met up with her friends again, the man totally changed. He grabbed the woman, and held a hand over her nose and mouth.
“You are not going anywhere. You are staying here,” the man said.
Fighting about the bill
After a struggle, the woman finally managed to get loose, and she ran down to the reception area and reported the incident.
However, the 23-year-old man presented a completely different version of the incident when he was questioned by the police. He claimed that the two of them started to fight about the mini bar bill.
The prosecutor in Bergen county court has requested 12 months sentence of immediate imprisonment. The man’s lawyer requested acquittal.
