Norwegian industry has lost as many as 17,100 jobs the last year. The number is a lot higher than what experts predicted.
There are only 281,400 industry jobs left in Norway, according to numbers presented by Statistisk sentralbyrå (SSB), a national research agency.
Two years ago, SSB estimated that Norway would loose 10,000 industry jobs before 2010; however, apparently 17,100 jobs have disappeared during the time period of the second quarter of 2002 to the second quarter of 2003.
