Norwegian businesses want to move 80,000 jobs abroad during the next five years, according to a survey conducted by the newsletter Mandag Morgen.
The businesses that participated informed that they have already moved 80,000 jobs out of Norway, and they predict that another 80,000 jobs will be moved abroad before 2010.
So far, one in five businesses has established branches abroad. A total of 40 percent of the businesses said they consider moving part of their establishment abroad within the next five years. Among the businesses that already have moved out part of their establishment said almost 90 percent that they want to move an even larger part.
Over one third of all businesses that has moved abroad established themselves in the Baltic States.
The survey was conducted in cooperation with the Finance Sector Union of Norway, Federation of Norwegian Commercial and Service Enterprises (HSH), the Industrial Development Corporation of Norway (SIVA), and Tenka – the Norwegian Society of Chartered Technical and Scientific Professionals.
