The Norwegian Minister of Local Government Erna Solberg is now starting a campaign to increase the number of young voters at the parliamentary election next year.
At the local elections last year, less than 60 percent of the electors used their voting right, and not surprisingly, it was particularly young people who did not to vote.
Solberg said that she particularly wants to motivate first and second time voters to step up to the ballot box.
«We are planning an information campaign to motivate first time voters in connection with the parliamentary election next year,» said Erna Solberg to the Norwegian television channel NRK.
The government also urges townships and counties to make it possible to vote in advance at colleges and universities.
