Expert claims firms lack knowledge of corruption

Transparency International’s Norwegian manager Jan Borgen claims Norwegian trade and industry have too little knowledge of corruption.

«There is a lack of knowledge of the chances of being involved in corruption cases and they lacking knowledge of what to do if a situation would arise,» Borgen said to the Norwegian television channel NRK:

According to Borgen, Norway is behind all the other countries in the Nordic region when it comes to knowledge of corruption. This is mainly due to the fact that the problem is not really discussed in Norwegian trade and industry.

Transparency International has developed a strategy which Norwegian business can use to avoid corruption scandals.

Borgen claimed corruption exists in Norwegian companies, and there is therefore a need for these guidelines. It may be particularly useful for companies which are going international.
