The Quart music festival was acquitted Wednesday of charges of being responsible for the sex stunt on stage during a concert this summer.
According to the radio channel Kanal 24, the court dropped the fine of NOK 50.000 (USD 8.075) and the music festival got off with only paying court costs.
«I have not read the verdict, so I dont know much about this, but at the time being I can say that this is pleasant,» said Toffen Gunnufsen, head of the festival, to TV 2 Nettavisen. «Our lawyer said that we had a good case and we trusted him. For me as an organizer this is a matter of principle.»
The couple, Tommy Hol Ellingsen and Leona Johansson, and the members of the band were fined NOK 10,000 (USD 1615) for the stunt.
The couple run the organization Fuck for Forest where they use sex to collect money for saving the rainforest. They have refused to pay the fine and after the court case Ellingsen said to TV 2 Nettavisen that they would appeal the case.
«We still claim that sex is the purest thing in the world,» Ellingsen said. «No one was hurt by what we did on stage in Kristiansand. We are going to fight tooth and nail even if we end up in jail.»
