A girl states that she was raped at Astrid Lindgrens childrens hospital in Solna, Sweden, when she was a patient there at the age of 13.
The girl did not dare to tell anybody about the alleged rape until 6 months after the incident. The case against the male nurse was concluded Tuesday, and the prosecution asked for imprisonment for several years, wrote Metro, according to the Swedish paper Aftonbladet.
The rape allegedly took place as the 13-year-old went through an operation at Astrid Lindgrens childrens hospital in Solna last fall. The male nurse allegedly put the girl down into a bed, took off her clothes, and raped her, in spite of her protests.
The incident was reported by the girls parents in March. According to the prosecution, the delay is due to the fact that the girl did not told anyone about the incident earlier.
The administration at the hospital apologizes for the incident, but claims that it is not necessary for the hospital to change its routines.
The defendant denies the accusations of rape.
The sentencing will take place November 11.
