Greater differences in Norway
The richest 10 percent in Norway get an increasingly bigger slice of the cake. The differences in salary are now as large in Norway as in the rest of Europe.
The main reason for the differences is tax-exempt stock dividends and a high tax level on ordinary income. The increasing differences press forward a need to reform the tax system, wrote to the Norwegian paper Dagsavisen.
According to Statistics Norway, the differences are not very different than what is common in other European countries like Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium.
