Lower interest rates have finally started having an affect on the house market in Norway. Estate agents report about huge interest from potential buyers.
An open viewing of a small flat in Oslo on Sunday attracted 100 people who wanted to have a look.
"People who have money and a job use this opportunity to buy", said one estate agent.
Estate agents are certain that the cut in interest rates have made house buyers wake up.
"The lower interest rate makes a real difference for houses in the price category of NOK 1.5-2 million", said the estate agent.
It is still difficult to sell the most expensive properties on the market but things are lightening up:
"We do see an increase in interest from buyers", said estate agent Magnus Asp who is working to sell a fashionable home in Bygdøy Alle in Oslo at the moment.
