Bishop Rosemarie Køhn criticises both the Christian Democrats (Krf) and Dagfinn Høybråten (photo), party leader, in connection with Misjonsforbundet’s exclusion of homosexuals.

To the Norwegian daily Aftenposten, Køhn said she does not understand why Høybråten refuse to comment Misjonsforbundet’s (the missionary league’s) guidelines to refuse membership to homosexual and heterosexual couples living together without being married.

«Isn’t he free to comment on what he wants?,» Køhn said to the paper. «I find it strange that he doesn’t want to comment this as a politician because it is theology. But as this case appears, I don’t see why he draws a line there.»

Køhn said she also believes that Misjonsforbundet’s rules connected to homosexuality represent «the wrong attitudes.»

Køhn added that she thinks the Norwegian Christian Democrat Prime Minister Kjell Magne Bondevik should comment this case. She said that the Prime Minister avoided the questions Thursday of last week when he refused to give an opinion on homosexual cohabitation.

«Bondevik must be able to say what he means about it as he has expressed a clear opinion previously,» Køhn said to the paper.
