The Norwegian King Harald was admitted to the operation room Monday morning in order to remove his bladder due to cancer.
The Norwegian Royal court sent out a press release stating that; His Majestys doctors inform that the operation of King Harald is now under way. The operation started at 9:35 a.m. and may last for up to 7 hours.
The King is at the hands of Norways best cancer specialists. There are a total of 15 persons participating in the operation.
Removing the bladder
The Kings illness made it necessary to remove the entire bladder. The cancer was discovered at an early stage, so experts have stated that King Harald will fully recover after todays operation.
The King will remain at Rikshospitalet until December 22, and according to reports, the King will be on sick leave for two to three months.
