A 36-year-old man from Sotra was sentenced after downloading more than 18,000 pornographic pictures of children.
The man allegedly downloaded the pictures over a five year period, and the youngest children the man had pictures of were only 2 years old, according to the Norwegian daily Bergens Tidende.
The man had organized his pictures and filed them in different catalogs on the computer depending on how he characterized the pictures, said Svein Erik Krogvold, police inspector at Hordaland police district.
The 35-year-old is one of ten people from Hordaland who was caught in August of 2002 as a result of the national Aksjon Pendulum headed by Norways International Crime Unit. A total of 160 people were arrested and charged for possession of child pornography as a result of Aksjon Pendulum.
Midhordaland sentenced the 36-year-old to 10 months in jail where of half of the sentence was suspended.
