Two men swindled thousands of krone from Norwegians by using the name of the former Hotell Cæsar star Henriette Lien (right) on a web auction QXL.
A 22-year-old from Grimstad and a 24-year-old from Tvedestrand were bidding on cell phones at the web auction QXL under the name Henriette Lien among others.
The men are now among other things charged with 17 accounts of fraud. Over a period of two months 15 persons were allegedly tricked into paying for cell phones they never received. People paid up to NOK 6,000 for the non-existent cell phones.
More and more people appear to become victims of this type of Internet fraud. People are apparently a little too naïve on this point and send money before they have received the goods, said Hanne-Eva Muller, police law clerk, to the paper Grimstad Adressetidene.
When this case comes up at Sand tingrett, the men will also be charged with theft. In addition, one of the men is charged with threatening to take the other mans life.
