Norwegian alpine star promises to return

Kjetil André Aamodt promised the Norwegian alpine fans that his career is definitely not over in spite of his injury he got yesterday during a training session. He said he believes the injury will get him even more fired up about the World Championships and the Olympics.

The first thing that hit Kjetil André Aamodt when he fell during training Wednesday, was that his career was over, but he promises that it is not, he will return.

“I had pain in both my knee and my ankle,” said Aamodt at the press conference in Innsbruck, Austria, Thursday. “I thought, ‘that was that. Now my career is over’. This is the end of 14 years.”

But after a night in the hospital bed, the multiple medal winner got his motivation back and said he thinks his injury will bring him back on top.

“I think this can get me extra fired up before the World Championships and the Olympics,” Aamot said.

Two bolts have been operated into the 32-year-old’s ankle, and the doctors stated that he probably would be back in the slopes before Christmas.

“I may be back skiing in about six to eight weeks,” Aamot said. “This season is basically spoiled.”
