Norwegian business leader sells his private plane
Røkke bought the plane in 2000, but have been trying to sell it for a long time. Last week Røkkes company Aker RGI finally found a buyer, and Røkke is rid of the huge expense, according to the paper VG.
The luxury plane has most definitely been a pressing cost for finance leader. The 850 operating hours have probably cost Røkke more than NOK 40 million (USD 5.7 million).
How much Røkke sold the plane for is not officially known, but Leif Arne Langøy, CEO at Aker RGI, said to VG that the price is close to what Røkke paid for it. In other words, the price is most likely something between NOK 350 to 400 million (USD 50 to 57 million).
The Boeing Business Jet, built on the model of a 737, is very well equipped and is definitely the most luxurious plane on the market. According to Boeings own web site, the total number of planes sold world wide is 68.
