The Norwegian computer company Nimbus is having great success abroad. During the last six months, the company has nailed down 40 contracts in the US.

Nimbus, the Norwegian IT company, is becoming a success story abroad. Last week, the company signed a contract with a well-established American law firm. Nimbus is working with Dell on this contract which they snatched right under the noses of IBM and Tivoli.

The contract with the law firm falls is added to a list of close to 50 similar contracts in the US. The Royal Air Force and the US Army Pentagon are among Nimbus’ new clients.

Among other things, the company develops surveillance systems that locate errors when they occur in a system.

Employees, who lost their jobs in the liquidation of Norsk Data, got new jobs in Nimbus. Dag Lund, head of Nimbus, said that the company has much to thank Norsk Data for.

“Norsk Data was a really good school,” Lund said. “Many of us came directly from college or the university, and were thrown out in deep water.”

Lund estimates that Nimbus will have a turn over of NOK 12-13 million (USD 1.7 million) with a surplus of NOK 3 million (USD 428.000) this year.
