The Norwegian Prime Minister Kjell Magne Bondevik allegedly asked his cabinet members to decide before the end of the year whether or not they want to continue in their current positions.
According to the Norwegian daily Aftenposten, this indicates that the prime minister does not plan to make any changes to the cabinet this year.
The paper quotes an anonymous source in the cabinet.
The earliest we can start to think about these changes are in the days between Christmas and New Years Eve, the source said.
In addition to this, the debates raging regarding change of leaders in both the Christian Democrats (KrF) and the Liberal Party (V) may lead to power shifts in government.
