SAS traffic up 10 percent

SAS had a 10 percent increase in the passenger traffic this March compared to last year.

The number of people traveling with SAS increased with 10 percent in March compared to the same month last year, according to a press release issued by the company.

The number of passengers on all the airlines included in the SAS group increased with 7.9 percent to 2.81 million travelers. The so-called cabin factor which measures the occupancy increased with 0.9 percent points to 62.3 percent. The capacity increased with 8.5 percent in the period.

«We are pleased with the growth, particularly the long distances routes are doing well,» said Sture Stølen at SAS to TV 2 Nettavisen.

He also stated that the London routs have been stabilized and people now travel more often on business class.

As for Scandinavian Airlines alone, the number of travelers increased with four percent to 1.75 million passengers.
