TV 2 nominated to Rose d'Or

The nominations for this year’s Rose d’Or were announced yesterday. TV 2 was awarded two nominations in the categories of soaps and reality show.

On its first attempt TV 2 received two nominations in the Rose d’Or, the festival for entertainment television programming. TV 2 was nominated for its soap “Hotel Cæsar” and its reality show “Farmen.” The festival will take place in Lucern, Switzerland, April 13 to 18, gathering the best in European television production.

Tough competition
The category soaps is new this year and the Norwegians show “Hotel Cæsar” is competing against “Eastenders,” “Coronation Street,” and “Neighbours.”

“Farmen” is competing against “Expedition: Robinson” (SVT), “Wife Swap” (Channel Four), “Big Brother Africa” and “Schwhul macht cool!” (RTL2).

Prestigious awards
Rose d’Or is the most prestigious festival for television entertainment in Europe. After 43 years in Montreux, the festival will be held in Lucern for the first time this year. As of this year, a Rose d’Or will be given out in each category.

The Norwegian television channel NRK won the Rose d’Or once in 1976. This year the channels program “Slå på ring” has been nominated in the category comedy.
