Woman gave birth in the toilet
Nothing indicated that Nina Nilsen, 23, was pregnant. She had her period regularly and had not gained any weight. Nilsen, who normally lives in Seljord in Telemark, thought she had gotten a gastric flu when she in the middle of the night last Thursday got really bad stomach cramps.
While she was sitting on the toilet in the bathroom at her parents house in Asker, she felt the need to press. She got up and saw the head emerging, according to the local paper Asker og Bærums Budstikke.
«Youre a daddy. I think you should get my mom,» Nilsen shouted at her boyfriend.
Suddenly, a new born baby girl was laying with the placenta in the toilet bowl. Grandfather Nils reacted quickly and grabbed the child.
The child was not breathing, but he shook her gently and placed the baby on his chest.
The child soon made gurgling sounds and he saw one of the legs moving. Mother and child were sent by ambulance helicopter to Rikshospitalet. The newborn weighed 2460 grams and was 42 centimetres long. Both mother and child are doing well.
